For a small country we have a lot to offer
5% of the world's biodiversity, a 200 year old democracy, and The Worlds Finest Coffee.
So we don't have a standing army, our roads aren't "perfect", and maybe we lack the gold for which Christopher Columbus named us "Rich Coast".

But we do have 34,000 species of insects, 1000 species of butterflies, 9000 species of plants, 1200 species of orchids, 208 mammals, 850 birds, over 100 volcanoes and of course The World Finest Coffee.

And why are we so proud of having the Worlds Finest Coffee...

Because everything we boast of now in this small country, from our model democracy to our current society we call "Ticos" is related to Coffee.
It flows in our system and fuels our customs and way of life. It makes us Pura Vida? So YES,, we are just as a proud to boast of having 5% of the world's biodiversity as we are of saying we have the World's Finest Coffee.
